vtshooting

My heart goes out to the victims and the families of the victims of the Shooting at Virginia Tech High school. I heard about this driving home from school on news radio, I hope everyone can take some time out of their day, today or tomorrow, to pray for them and to pray that an event like this doesn’t happen again.

Belief in Friday the 13th as Evil is a Sin

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Yesterday was Friday the 13th. Now I’m going to say a simple statement and I’m not going to talk about the past, and what is the cause for Friday the 13th being viewed as bad luck. Belief in Friday the 13 as a day of bad luck and evil day is a sin.

6I am the LORD your G*d, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;7you shall have no other gods before me.8You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.9You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your G*d am a jealous G*d, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and fourth generation of those who reject me, 10but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments. ~ Deuteronomy 5:6-21

I’ve said this time and time again, belief any any superstition or idol, is a sin in the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic faith. Belief that any superstition beyond the grasp of G*d is a sin. And that’s all there is to it, end of story.

Associating Games With Other Things

2tvs

I’ve usually have two Television sets setup at my gaming area. One to play games and one to watch cable or DVDs.

Recently I can recall playing Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 on Game Cube, and thinking of George Lopez Quotes from an episode that I watched years ago. When ever I go back to Tony Hawk Underground 2 I think of Simpson’s Quotes, the same With BMX XXX.

I never actually beat Luigi’s Mansion, every once in a while and play it for a few minutes and try to remember where I was at, whenever I play it I remember the day I got My Game Cube, Luigi’s mansion being the first game for the system I ever had. I also remember the fact that I didn’t have a memory card until after a weak or so of having the game.

Tony Hawk American Wasteland, I beat on it’s hardest setting in 2 days. I beat it in my basement and every time I play it I think of things that happened to me those two days, I remember my brother was home and he Kept yelling at me that I’m waisting my life playing video games.

When ever I play Pac-Man World 2, I think of kanYe West’s The College Dropout. I probably played the majority of the game listening to that album.

Metroid Prime and WarioWorld and Hitman 2 were that last three games that I bought before Getting a Wii, I definitely associate these games with the few months of anticipation of getting the Wii.

I Know whenever I play a retro game, Like Super Mario Bros 1 or 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Caveman Games, and what have you.

Anyways I was wondering if other people have these type of thoughts? Do you ever associate games with something else, something that happened to you while you were playing a game?

Happy Easter

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Well today is Easter and like every year the ritualistic activity of coloring Easter Eggs took place this year. Most people are unaware of the reasoning behind the coloring of Easter Eggs, and a good Blogger would explain the reasoning behind the Egg before discussing them…

All Eggssisterseggs

Well on to my Eggs, You can can see my masterpiece’s (on the left) and you can see my 21 year old sisters eggs which were inferior to my eggs, and lacked the makings of what are need to call them good Easter Eggs.

Shades

This egg has textures comparable to some of man’s greatest paintings. The colors red and brown shade the entire egg top to bottom, and even as the egg had pink on the top and blue on the bottom, the red and brown shading stays constant thought the piece.

Broken Egg

But as with most years in my house and the houses of the worlds other Easter Happy Egg colorers. Many eggs must suffer from the smashings and bumpings of the eggs environment. these eggs jump the gun for their eventual complete removal of their shells, and eventual consumption. Oh yeah and Happy Easter Everybody.

Alphabet 26

alpha26

In 1950 Bradbury Thompson invented an alphabet called Alphabet 26. This new proposal would have simplified the alphabet by having the lower and upper case symbols identical except for size.

The conventional alphabet has 19 letters that have different upper and lower case symbols(A,B,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,P,Q,R,T,U,Y and a,b,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,p,q,r,t,u,y) and 7 letters (C,O,S,V,W,X,Z, and c,o,s,v,w,x,z) that have identical symbols. The theory Thompson presented was that it was misleading for a letter, or for any graphical symbol, to have two different designs, and that these different designs were confusing school children as they learned the English language.

I personal think this would be a great idea not only for learning but also for standards. I, when I’m writing to myself or sometimes to others, write in all caps, I think it developed when I was in the 4th grade after I was hit by a car and I guess it stuck.

Folding@Home

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Folding@home has been or will be implemented to help studies involving Alzheimer’s Disease, Cancer, Huntington’s Disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Parkinson’s Disease, Ribosome & antibiotics. You can help buy simply installing Folding@Home on your computer. Folding@Home is a distributed computing project, meaning people across the globe are connecting their computers to fold virtual protein quicker than any supercomputer in the world could do.

Also for those who own a Sony Grill PS3, Folding@Home will be accessible within the Network menu of the XrossMediaBar. Now all the unused computing power can join the cause; maybe you can feel better now that you’re gaming machine you bought for $600 can now use it’s spare horsepower by going to help someone other than yourself.

So come on, it’s real easy to install, it’s available in all prevalent languages and in virtually all computing platforms. The program runs in the background or if you want you can look at the protein unfolding yourself. The program uses unused processes of your computer, meaning it won’t slow your computer down. For those of you who use your computer to only chat on AIM and leave your computer on all day long, install the program and let all that time your computer is doing nothing actually be productive by helping someone
