Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trailer
Thursday, June 28th, 2007SSBB: Names
Thursday, June 28th, 2007
Today, The Dojo added information on user names. The username system will be similar to the one for Melee. You enter you name as you would in a cell phone. Now, I’m pretty sure they’re doing this because it’s easy to recode from the Japanese characters to this setup. Now we have to click two times for every character, in what way is that efficient?
Apparently your name is assigned to your controller configuration, which I actually don’t like either, I’d like to easily switch around my setup, but maybe that’s just me.

Betty Boop: Double Shift Announced
Wednesday, June 27th, 2007Betty Boop made her film debut in a Max Fleischer short cartoon entitled “Dizzy Dishes” in August of 1930. Her character evolved, leading to a “Talkartoon” series. In 1932, Betty starred in “Any Rag,” and the world’s first genuine female cartoon star was created. Betty’s flapper style and sassy charm has captured audiences ever since.
“We’re delighted to be working with DSI,” said Ita Golzman, King Features Vice President, North American Licensing. “Betty Boop has been entertaining fans for more than 75 years, and given the popularity of gaming, we believe this is a terrific way to introduce her to new audiences.”
“It’s always exciting to see strong, female characters in video games, and Betty is the classic female cartoon star,” says Alison Kain, DSI’s Director of Marketing. “It’s exciting to take the spunk and personality of the classic Betty and create a very modern gaming experience. She really is a character for the whole family.”
In Betty Boop “Double Shift,” players take control of Betty as she struggles with the daily tasks of running her own restaurant—for example, seating customers, taking orders, or bringing the check. Assist Betty throughout the game as she earns money to improve her diner and help revitalize the neighborhood. The video game takes full advantage of the touch screen capabilities on the Nintendo DS™, as the user can easily move Betty around the restaurant using the stylus.
Betty Boop: Double Shift will be released in Fall 2007 on the Nintendo DS.

NINTENDO’S WIIWARE PAVES THE WAY FOR FRESH GAMES, COOL CONSUMER EXPERIENCES
Nintendo Sets a New Paradigm: One Game Can Still Make a Difference
SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 27, 2007 – The search for the next ingeniously ground-breaking video game has begun. At a private developers conference this week, Nintendo announced the introduction of WiiWare™, a game-creation service that will allow developers large and small to create new downloadable video game content for sale by Nintendo through the Wii Shop Channel of the hot Wii™ home video game system. WiiWare paves the way for smaller, more creative games to make their way to the public at lower prices, without any inventory risk to developers. The first WiiWare content will launch in early 2008.
“Independent developers armed with small budgets and big ideas will be able to get their original games into the marketplace to see if we can find the next smash hit,” says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. “WiiWare brings new levels of creativity and value to the ever-growing population of Wii owners.”
The possibilities for WiiWare are limited only by the imaginations of developers. WiiWare provides game creators a simple method by which they can get their games to the public. This approach, combined with the remarkable motion controls of the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™, will give birth to fresh takes on established genres, as well as original ideas that currently exist only in developers’ minds. The reduced barriers to development provide developers the freedom to create and an inexpensive, clearly defined path to reach consumers who will ultimately determine which game will become the Next Big Thing.
WiiWare will be posted on the Wii Shop Channel. As with current Wii Shop Channel offerings, users will redeem Wii Points™ to download content. It will support a variety of pricing options. Details about that and upcoming projects will be announced at a later date. For more information about Wii, visit Wii.com.

Trip to the Game Store: Some Days in June
Tuesday, June 26th, 2007First off, I have no idea how I should format a title like that. On June 15 I picked up Pokémon Emerald from a Game Stop. I talking to the guy that works their for a while. After asking a few questions, I found out that GBA Pokémon games sales have raised since the release of the DS Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Yesterday, I picked up my Resident Evil 4 that I reserved a few days ago from EB Games (#4834) located at Chesterfield Commons, 34830 23 MILE ROAD, Chesterfield MI, 48047 US, 1(586)725-1407. The day and time I was instructed to pick it up, I was told that they have yet to “open it’s box” meaning they didn’t open and catalog the games, even thou they told me they received this shipment hours ago. So basically they were just being lazy. Now I want you to keep this in mind, on the receipt for reserves at EB Games it says: “NEW RELEASE PRODUCTS WILL BE HELD FOR 48 HOURS AFTER RELEASE”. Resident Evil 4: Wii edition was released on June 19, 2007. I was contacted by phone to pick up my game June 20, 2007, I came late that day, and they didn’t even have the box opened, they told me to come later that day, so in actuality my game only available contractually for the for the 2-4 hours that the store was still open later that day, but to be fair I came six days later and picked it up.
Anyways that day I also bought a GameCube controller extension(saving 19 cents with my Discount) and a reservation for Pokémon Battle Revolution.
