NINTENDO NEWS: NINTENDO SUPPORTS U.S. RAIDS ON COPYRIGHT CIRCUMVENTION DEVICES
Aug. 1, 2007
Today U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents executed 32 federal search warrants in 16 states as part of an investigation into the alleged sale and distribution of illegal modification chips for various video game consoles, including Nintendo’s Wii™ home video game system. The mod chips designed for the Wii console circumvent the security embedded in the hardware and allow users to play counterfeit Wii software.
This Immigrations and Customs Enforcement investigation represents the largest national enforcement action of its kind targeting video game piracy. Nintendo has worked closely with this branch of the Department of Homeland Security, and fully supports its actions and other investigations currently underway.
“Nintendo and its developers and publishers lost an estimated $762 million in sales in 2006 due to piracy of its products,” said Jodi Daugherty, Nintendo of America’s senior director of anti-piracy. “Nintendo’s anti-piracy team works closely with law enforcement officials worldwide to seize mod chips and counterfeit software. Since April, Nintendo has seized more than 91,000 counterfeit Wii discs globally.”

Taito, a company that I’m relay not familiar with, announced it will be releasing Arkanoid DS, according some sources.
Arkanoid is a classic. and Arkanoid will be jammed with some new cool features. A “Clear Game” mode features a 140 stages. Then a Quest mode which is a puzzle mode. The game also features unlockable skins, blocks and background music.
Additionally, A special controller resembling the arcade controller will be sold separately. This can be plugged onto the Game Boy Advance port of the Nintendo DS. The controller will come in white, black, silver and pink colors. Although I would like to point out that all these colors might not be available in North America, especially silver. Gonintendo has posted the following screen on their website.
Their is no know date set for North America or PAL Regions, but the game is set for a December release in Japan.
Yesterday we got the Fire Emblem Character Ike. Today The DOJO gave us a Fire Emblem stage, called Castle Siege. As time progresses more and more fireballs are launched by catapults and hit the castle until the point were the floor shatters, and all characters fall into the castle. Then as the players fight they can break the stone statues holding up the stages platforms. Are they done moving yet? No, after that players fall to the mysterious underground. What is the underground like? Well we’re told we “can look forward to finding out later.”
