For those of you who don’t know, probably everyone, I am a professional Chainsaw Carver. So what does that have to do with Game Influence? Well, I’ve have had hopes to make a “special carving” for sometime. Well, in the winter I’m usually low on orders, so I though it’s time to put the project into gear, and get started. So what type of things have I made? I’ve made bears frogs, birds, Tiki gods, squirrels, roses, hearts, and even a Donkey Kong. Below is a picture of a James Bond I did last spring; it took 30+ hours.
So what’s this project? I’m going to carve a life size carving of Link, of The Legend Of Zelda franchise. First off, I had to pick the pose and version of Link that I wanted. I considered basing the carving on different pictures found on the internet. Instead of just using a picture, I decided that I should just buy a figurine. I got a The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess figurine set at a store called Game Quest; pretty cool figurines I might add. I’m going to use the Link figurine as the basis for the piece.
The day after I picked up the figurines, I picked the log that I will make the piece out of, it’s pretty big, at least six feet tall, but it will most likely be slimmed down slightly.
I’m doing the carving to my own satisfaction so the time and effort restrictions that are usually the case in creating my pieces are not going to be factored into the project. I might spend as much as 100 hours on this piece(or even more), more than I have spent on any other carving to date. This might just be my magnum opus, and I know fans of The Legend of Zelda franchise wont be upset.
I may be selling this carving, so if you’re interested in it, keep a look out on Game Influence. For a more frequent and updated status of the project, check the Link or Mario Carving? post on the Insane Entertainment Forum.

That’s right, I’m holding a good old fashion “Jack Thompson Hate Speech Contest”. I want to hear what you think of Jack Thompson. What would you like to be done to him.
I have yet to make up a prize for the winner, but I can promise you “props” beyond your wildest dreams. So go ahead, and let the hate flow through you. The winner will be decided by who can depict Jack Thompson in the most vile way!

I’ve been contacted by several people that said they would love to join my upcoming podcast. This guy contacted me by phone. I wouldn’t say his blog is new, but it looks like he’s just starting to “get going”. In that, a large percentages of his post on his blog are recent post, but enough about his statistics. He seemed really eager to join the podcast, and I look forward to having him be a member of the the discussion.

I’m planning on doing a Podcast in the near future. I’m trying to get other blogs to join the PodCast. What do I hope to be the podcast topic of discussion? The gaming industry, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, upcoming games and basically anything Gaming.
I’ll probably do the legs of the work, or hire out the work. Since I don’t plan on having all of us actually come to the same place, I plan to connect everyone with VOIP, voice chat, or traditional phone lines. have more than one person running your blog, that’s fine, the more the better. If you own a blog, please E-mail me at RLK89@RLK89.com, or better yet, call me at 1-586-212-2999.

Yesterday Nsider was found dead in his appartment. The police report stated the following.
Nintendo NSider Forums Update
Nintendo is working on a major overhaul to Nintendo.com to support the continued success of Nintendo DS and Wii. As we prepare for this huge site update, Nintendo must unfortunately close the Nintendo NSider Forums message boards indefinitely beginning Sept. 17, 2007.
For more than four years, these NSider Forums have fostered engaging, robust debates, a strong community and friendships. While their future remains uncertain, in the interim we invite our fans to build on the spirit of community by starting their own Nintendo discussion sites. Remember also that the unique features available with Nintendo DS and Wii give Nintendo the opportunity to communicate directly with fans, while also enabling fans and friends around the world to communicate with each other.
Nintendo has the greatest fans in the world, and it is because of their support and passion that Nintendo DS and Wii have become so hugely successful around the world. We hope that the faithful Nintendo community members will look forward to the future games and website updates that will enhance Nintendo’s global community of Wii and Nintendo DS owners.
Starting Sept. 17, existing NSider Forums will be available in Read Only format for one week. Private Messages will be disabled. On Monday, Sept. 24, the forums will be removed from public view.
- To visit the Read Only version of the NSider Forums, click here.
Thanks for your understanding and continued support. We’ll see you soon elsewhere on the Web.
